ABOUT THE NETWORK

In response to extractive industries and corporate exploitation, indigenous peoples in Asia established the Asia Indigenous Peoples Network on Extractive Industries and Energy (AIPNEE) in Kulala Lumpur, Malaysia on March 2013.

The AIPNEE is a regional platform for solidarity and support for indigenous communities affected by State and corporate projects implemented in their teritories. Duly registered as non-stock and non-profit association with SEC (Securities and Exchange Commission). It is linked with the Indigenous Peoples Global Network on the Extractive Industries.

 

Programme

Document and monitor the impact of extractive industries and energy projects on Indigenous Peoples’ rights.

Strengthen information sharing and inter-community exchanges on the situation of the affected Indigenous Peoples and their struggles.

Expose violations of Indigenous Peoples’ rights, gather broad support for community actions, and support complaints to appropriate international and domestic bodies.
